The Urban Forestry Division was formed to protect, preserve, enhance, and nurture Winter Park’s urban forest by utilizing best management practices and the most up-to-date scientific research. Staff maintains existing vigorous trees, removes dead/diseased/dying trees, and replants with a diverse species selection in an effort to promote our most important renewable resource as well as sustain our forest for today and future generations. The city’s urban forest consists of over 75,000 trees on private and public property and there are over 25,000 trees in city rights of way.
The division is also responsible for maintaining trees in parks and around facilities, trees coexisting with electrical facilities, rights of way trees, and community outreach and education. Please see the links below for specific questions or concerns.
