Park Avenue Refresh

Park Avenue is the epicenter of Winter Park’s culture, charm and economic vitality. The last Park Avenue streetscape restoration occurred between 1996 and 1999. Now, almost 30 years later, the city’s main street, Park Avenue between Webster and Fairbanks avenues will be undergoing a refresh to provide for today and tomorrow’s needs.

Overall Goals

  • Maintain charm & warm, inviting environment
  • Enhance safety & aesthetics
  • Strengthen infrastructure (electric, smart city & irrigation)
  • Provide consistent look for hardscape, landscape & architectural elements along the Avenue

Phase 1

The project management team (pictured above) has been working since September 2024 on detailed plans for the refresh.

    • Phase 1 area includes Webster to Garfield avenues
    • CRA funding of $2.5 million approved August 27, 2025
    • Construction is expected to begin mid-January 2026
    • Infrastructure improvements:
      • Installation of conduit for new electrical, low voltage, fiber and irrigation lines
      • Repair of broken sidewalks, curbs, and raised planter boxes
      • Treatments at intersections for pedestrian, guest and vehicular safety
    • Hardscape enhancements (as shown in images below):
      • New street lights equipped with integrated smart hubs, smart technology, banner arms, and hanging baskets
      • Decorative planter pots and safety bollards
      • New trash and recycling receptacles
      • Seasonal landscaping
      • Planting of live oaks where appropriate
