The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is leading a project to improve safety along Fairbanks Avenue between South Park Avenue and North Lakemont Avenue. The project includes resurfacing the roadway, adding traffic-calming features to encourage safer driving speeds, enhancing pedestrian connectivity, upgrading pavement markings and signage, and installing new Pedestrian Hybrid Beacons at key crossing locations.
Construction Update
Motorists can expect intermittent single-lane closures on eastbound and westbound S.R. 426 between South Park Avenue and North Lakemont Avenue. These closures are necessary for crews to safely perform signal and concrete work near South Interlachen Avenue, Trismen Terrace, Fletcher Place, and Trismen Park.
Work is scheduled to begin Sunday, August 23, at 8:30 p.m., and is anticipated to be completed by Thursday, August 27, by 6:30 a.m. (weather permitting). Please use caution when traveling through the work zone and allow extra travel time during overnight construction activities.
