Golfside Neighborhood Improvement Project
Project Improvements
Update #2 – March 2026
Sewer system upgrades are ongoing on Golfside Drive, Summerfield Road, and a small section of Fairway Drive prior to paving. Most of this work is being completed using trenchless methods to minimize digging and disruption. Additional underground repairs were encountered during construction, which has extended the original schedule. Sewer work is expected to continue through the first week of April, weather permitting.
Work on Summerfield Road may require a temporary road closure between Greene Road and Ranger Avenue. This closure is planned during Spring Break to reduce traffic impacts. Advance notice will be provided on roadside message boards prior to the closure.
Curb replacement is approximately 99% complete, and sidewalk installation is expected to be about 75% complete as of March 17. All concrete work will be completed prior to paving.
The drainage improvement project at the Fairway Drive/Golfside Drive bridge is also underway. Phase 1 will continue over the next few months. Phase 2 will involve reconstruction of the bridge roadway and will require a temporary road closure at the bridge. Additional notice will be provided once the schedule is finalized.
Milling and repaving of neighborhood streets is scheduled to begin before the end of April after underground and concrete work is complete. Advance notice will be sent before paving begins.
During construction, residents may experience weekday work activity, temporary lane or parking restrictions, and construction noise. Driveway access will be maintained whenever possible, and work will be coordinated to minimize impacts.
These improvements are part of a coordinated effort to extend the life of neighborhood infrastructure, improve drainage, and provide smoother, safer roadways.
Infrastructure improvements will be continuing in the Golfside Neighborhood over the coming weeks.
Work currently underway includes curb repairs and sewer system improvements throughout the neighborhood. Most of the sewer work is being completed using trenchless methods, which helps minimize digging and disruption. This phase of construction is expected to continue through mid to late February, weather permitting. Looking ahead, the City is also planning additional improvements this Spring/Summer. These include potential drainage enhancements, pending confirmation of funding, as well as milling and repaving of all neighborhood streets. Roadway resurfacing will take place after underground work is completed to ensure long-lasting results and avoid repeated construction.
During construction, residents may experience weekday construction activity, temporary lane or parking restrictions, and some construction-related noise. Driveway access will be maintained whenever possible, and the City will continue to coordinate work to minimize impacts.
These improvements are part of a coordinated effort to extend the life of neighborhood infrastructure, improve drainage, and provide smoother and safer roadways for residents. Additional updates will be provided as schedules are finalized. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as this important work continues.
