I began my golf life at age 11 in Northern Michigan and it has been a way of life ever since. As a high school golfer, I had the good fortune to be assigned as a scorer in Arnold Palmer’s group at the 1981 U.S. Senior Open held at Oakland Hills Country Club in Birmingham, Michigan (my home course). That experience directly impacted me and the course of my life in golf.
I attended the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, Michigan) on an academic and athletic scholarship playing on the Women’s Gold Team for four years. Upon graduation, I decided to pursue a career in professional golf, playing on the PGA’s Futures Tour as well as multiple qualifying schools in pursuit of my dream of playing on the LPGA®. I was also a successful high school girls’ golf coach, and my main focus was encouraging young women to understand that golf is an avenue for success in life beyond the classroom.
In 2001, I transitioned into the next phase of my golf career, working as a teaching professional at the Arnold Palmer Golf Academy at Bay Hill. I am proud to say that I have earned the designation of Class A LPGA Teacher. I have devoted my life to constantly educating myself so I can share my passion of golf with others.

Within the five decades of teaching, I’ve taught all ages and genders from stark beginners to tour professionals. My son Jeff was a two-time champion as a Junior and a Club Champion at Winter Park Pines Golf Club. Being selected as a member of the PGA® National Teaching Committee and North Florida Play Development Award are two of my honors of which I’m most proud. I’ve taught at Winter Park for 20 years and hope to continue doing so.

I have been playing golf since the age of 13, which led me to playing on my Horseheads High School golf team (Horseheads, NY). While continuing to improve my game, I then secured a position on the Alfred State College golf team (Alfred, NY). I was also able to caddy for some exceptional players who inspired me to have a passion for learning the game.
One of these amazing players, Jack Lumpkin [1935-2022] – 1995 PGA® National Teacher of the Year award winner and a Top 50 golf teacher in America every year through 2000 – invited me to learn at his Sea Island Performance Center at Sea Island Golf Club (St. Simons Island, Georgia). There, he personally taught me how to teach others the great game of golf. His instruction propelled me to be the best instructor I could be for the past 19 years.
