Exedra monument at Kraft Azalea GardenMany residents have expressed a wish to make donations or memorialize a loved one within our parks system. In order to facilitate such requests, we have established guidelines based upon best practices nationwide, the needs and resources of our department and the wishes of our prospective donors.

The guidelines allow for many types of memorials and we encourage citizens to contact the department. Donations may be tax deductible (please see your tax advisor).

Donation opportunities include the following categories:

Living Memorials in the form of tree plantings – residents may donate funding for the installation of a tree in a city park. Acknowledgement plaques are not permitted with this type of memorial.

Personalized Benches – there are many opportunities to dedicate a park bench. Although there are no opportunities available in Central Park, there are other parks that have available bench locations.

Statuary – the donation of a statue or sculpture may be considered dependent on its consistency with park standards, location and the statue itself. Each request for the donation of statuary is considered individually.

Thank you for considering a donation to the Parks & Recreation Department. We are very proud that Winter Park’s residents care so greatly about our green spaces and facilities.
