Groundbreaking Ceremony for New Train Station

When: Wednesday, February 13, 2013 @ 11:30 AM
Where: 150 West Morse Blvd. (just south of the current train station)
Cost: FREE

The City of Winter Park, in partnership with Amtrak, the Federal Transit Administration (FTA), and Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), will break ground on the new train station to service Amtrak & SunRail. Featuring Craftsman-style architecture, the new station will include ADA-compliant restrooms open to the public during normal operating hours, a warm lobby to greet and welcome train visitors to our city, and elements of art including the “Art in Transit” concept recently approved by the City Commission. The new 2,400-square-foot building will be located just 75 feet south of the existing station. Construction of the new station will begin this month with an expected grand opening by winter 2013.
