Women’s Personal Safety and Awareness Program

What is the Women’s Personal Safety and Awareness Program?

It is an initiative to stop violence against teenage and adult women, through personal safety awareness and empowerment education.

It is a FREE 2-hour educational awareness and crime-victim prevention program by the Winter Park Police Department. This program contains basic introductory knowledge to help develop simple, but effective, habits and skills that can aid in one’s own personal safety. Teenage and adult women will become familiar with the “survival mindset” and are provided with information that may reduce their risk of exposure to violence. They will be introduced to certain aspects of basic physical self-defense and also given an opportunity to practice these techniques. Together, these skills can be used to enrich mental fortitude and begin the process of self-empowerment. If you are ever targeted in a violent attack, make yourself your best defense.

Location: Winter Park Police Department
Who can attend: girls/women ages 14 and up
