Due to the success of three separate drug take back events during 2010 and the continued public outcry for assistance, the Winter Park Police Department placed a Prescription Reclamation Station in the lobby of the Public Safety Building, located at 500 North Virginia Avenue.
This program is designed to help the community with safely disposing of outdated, unwanted, and unused medicines. This initiative will help keep over the counter and prescription medications out of the hands of our youth when the parents don’t know where to dispose of such items safely. This program will assure these unwanted and outdated drugs are safely destroyed and don’t end up in the hands of our children, our waterways, or inappropriate disposed of into our environment where they can adversely impact our natural habitats.
This station will be accessible during normal lobby business hours between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, except for holidays.
