Winter Park Country Club & Golf Course
The Winter Park Country Club and Golf course has a rich history. It all began with an organizational meeting of the Winter Park Golf Club in 1900 and, as with most things in early Winter Park, Charles H. Morse was at the forefront of developing a golf course in his adopted city. In 1900, he hired John Dunn of Scotland to design a 9-hole course that was situated in the area between Interlachen and New York Avenue, and south from Lyman Avenue to Lake Virginia. Today the Winter Park Country Club and Golf Course is a thriving 9-hole golf course that is open to the public. This city-owned course winds its way through downtown Winter Park and provides a challenge to even the most experienced golfer. Well known professionals such as Ben Hogan, Sam Snead, Gene Sarazen and Walter Hagen have played this course and even today you can spot the likes of Nick Faldo playing his favorite round in his hometown. With its narrow, tree-lined fairways and postage stamp, bunker guarded greens, this course will provide a test for every shot in a golfers arsenal.

Winter Park City Hall was renovated in 2012 with necessary improvements to serve the city for at least the next 10 years. This renovation which coincided with the city’s 125th anniversary and was made possible by a stimulus grant from the federal government intended to make city buildings more energy-efficient. In addition to providing a more welcoming, customer-friendly environment for city staff to greet residents and visitors, the renovation included new lighting and heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. The exterior of City Hall was also renovated to create a more welcoming and attractive vista for guests and those passing by.
