Select pieces from the C.J. Williams Collection
The opening reception will be held in two locations this evening.
7–8:30 p.m. at Crealde School of Art, Alice and William Jenkins Gallery
8–10 p.m. at the Hannibal Square Heritage Center, Visiting Exhibition Gallery
Including many works of art never before seen by the public, this exhibition of 83 pieces from nine southern U.S. states, Haiti, and several African tribes will be on display in two galleries from January 31 to May 16, 2020, and open to all at no charge. Provocative and joyful, resilient and profound, this private collection of paintings, drawings, sculptures, and carvings portrays power, myth, and memory in a way that transcends time and race, reminding us all of what it is to be human.
