Civilian Fire Academy – POSTPONED
THIS EVENT IS POSTPONED
Join the Winter Park Fire-Rescue Department for Citizen Fire Academy Class 7, every Tuesday 6-9 p.m. September 3 through October 8.
The Civilian Fire Academy is a six week, hands-on opportunity for residents to learn more about their fire-rescue department and meet the firefighters who protect and serve their community. The academy is a chance to see first-hands what duties and responsibilities firefighters have. The academy strives to improve the overall working relationship between citizens and firefighters, forming a partnership for a safer city.
Class schedule includes:
- Hose line flowing
- Ladder climb
- Hands-only CPR training
- Auto extrication
- Minimum age of 18 years
- Live within Winter Park city limits
- No prior felony arrests
- No Class-B misdemeanor arrests within five years of application
There is no charge. All materials, including a Civilian Fire Academy T-shirt, are provided.
