  • Waste Pro collects bulk items such as appliances, furniture, etc. (not hazardous waste) free of charge from customers twice per year during the months of May and November.
  • Customers may order additional bulk pickup’s for an additional charge. Contact Waste Pro for a quote.
  • SAFETY NOTE: It is required that all doors from refrigerators and freezers be removed before being placed curbside to ensure children do not become trapped inside.

  • If you are physically unable to place your containers curbside, you may request a medical waiver from the city qualifying you for rear door services.

  • Items for recycling must be placed in carts provided by the City of Winter Park/Waste Pro.
  • Do not place any recyclables in plastic bags. All recyclables should be placed loose inside the cart. Do not overload the cart; excess recyclables should be placed in brown paper bags.
  • Cardboard boxes can be broken down and placed inside the recycling cart.

  • All yard waste must be containerized.
  • If yard waste is unable to be containerized, it will only be collected if it is tied stacked and bundled, does not exceed four (4) feet in length (except palm fronds) or four (4) inches in radius, nor be greater than 50 pounds in weight for any piece or segment of such materials. Palm fronds stacked curbside shall be collected whole.
  • Yard waste in excess of three (3) cubic yards shall be assessed an extra charge.

By composting you can help reduce your overall landfill contribution and make organic matter able to improve the chemical, physical and biological characteristics of your soils.

  • We are offering FREE backyard composters to Winter Park Residents. To become eligible you must meet the following requirements:
  1. Must reside within the City of Winter Park Boundary. Check your eligibility by viewing a map of the City of Winter Park Boundary.
  2. Residents must register for one of our upcoming 2020 Introduction to Composting classes being led by UF/IFAS Extension Orange County:

Household Hazardous Waste Disposal Information

The next Household Hazardous Waste Dropoff Event is scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2020, from 8 a.m. to noon., at City Operations located at 1409 Howell Branch Road. For more information, please visit cityofwinterpark.eventbrite.com. Household Hazardous Waste (e.g., anti-freeze, automobile batteries, CFLs, paints, household chemicals, rechargeable batteries) and ewaste (e.g., computers, TVs) are collected at the Seminole County Central Transfer Station, Monday through Saturday, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., at 1950 State Road 419 in Longwood. You can also drop off at the Orange County Landfill, 7 days a week, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at 5901 Young Pine Road in Orlando.

Prescription Drug Reclamation Station – Outdated, unwanted, and unused medicines in their original containers can be safely disposed of at the Winter Park Police Department Prescription Reclamation Station, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., in the lobby of the Public Safety Facility located at 500 N. Virginia Ave.

Ordinance 3055-16 was adopted by the City Commission November 28, 2016, amending changes to Chapter 82 of the Code of Ordinances, governing solid waste. The table below outlines projects requiring use of the City of Winter Park’s franchise hauler Waste Pro®. This ordinance also requires all non-franchise waste haulers operating within the City of Winter to register with the city’s Building & Permitting Services Department unless exempted by the State of Florida.

Refusal to comply with these provisions may lead to canceled permitting inspections and further code enforcement penalties. For service requests with Waste Pro, please call 407-774-0800.
