A BRIEF HISTORY: Sevilla began its development in 1970 on property owned by James J. Banks, Jr. and his wife, Elizabeth Boyer Banks. The land now contains 63 lots. Most of the homes were built in the early 1970s, however two homes have been built since 1995. The homes were built by prominent builders of the day including Charles Clayton who lived is Sevilla with his family for many years. Many of the original owners still reside in the community, which is very close-knit and made up of families with small children and retired couples. We enjoy community activities and plan to start writing a detailed history of Sevilla within the next year. LOCATION AND BOUNDARIES: The community of Sevilla is located just off Pennsylvania Avenue in the heart of Winter Park. We are only minutes away from Rollins College and the Park Avenue Shopping District. The community is bordered by Fawsett Road, Lake Sue and Mead Botanical Gardens. There is one entrance to the community on Pennsylvania Avenue. HOMEOWNERS' ASSOCIATION AND SOCIAL ACTIVITIES: Sevilla has an active owners' association. The association plans social activities for the neighborhood including quarterly social gatherings, holiday parties, Halloween events and annual picnics. The Board meets monthly and is elected annually by a majority of the owners. Recently the Sevilla received a grant from the Winter Park Neighborhood Council for a new park bench and beautification of the sign at the entrance of the park.
