Cultural
& Economic Development
The Cultural
and Economic Development Division was created to help stabilize
and diversify our economy and strengthen our cultural institutions
with a goal of becoming the Southeasts premier urban village.
The division facilitates partnerships to promote the cultural institutions
and businesses of Winter Park to regional and international visitors.
The initial focus has been on promoting the central business district
surrounding Park Avenue.
In addition to creating an Economic Development
Advisory Board consisting of a diverse group from Winter Park businesses
to provide guidance on economic issues, the division works closely
with the Orlando Orange County Convention and Visitors Bureau and
other organizations to promote cultural attractions and businesses
in Winter Park.
The division formed the Winter Park Cultural Consortium
to engender cooperative effort among the cultural organizations
of the city. The consortium includes Winter Park organizations and
supporters, museums, the Winter Park Public Library, the Chamber
of Commerce, the Park Avenue Area Association, Rollins College and
many others. The division and the consortium strive to give all
Winter Park citizens an opportunity to contribute and experience
the joy of participating in meaningful community activities.
